Marla Meier

Marla has led the Fort Wayne, Indiana chapter of PFLAG for three years. PFLAG is a support group that assists with family relationships for LGBTQ+ individuals, including extended families and the organizations they depend upon. She also leads the support organization for LGBTQ+ individuals at her company’s local site of 500 people. Much of her time is spent at her long-time day job as a systems engineer, with her girlfriend Frances, and helping out her son. Marla attended the Keystone Conference in 2014 and 2016, each time gaining insights that helped her to understand herself and provided insights used to help others. She transitioned two years ago, an interesting challenge while living and working primarily with non-diverse middle-aged male coworkers in a conservative corner of a conservative state. She has been incredibly fortunate to have all members of her family in support.
