Ms. Kimberly Moore

Kimberly Moore served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. Her duties included a tour of duty as a Company Command during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her career was marked by the ban on open transgender service. Thus, she served her entire career in silence. As a result, she has become an advocate for transgender veteran rights and for open transgender service. She currently serves on the Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA ) Board of Directors. Her advocacy has enabled her to present the Trans-Veteran narrative in the halls of Congress, on CNN, and in the pages of the Washington Post and OUT magazine. In addition to advocacy work, Kimberly is a contractor supporting the U.S. Navy in Washington D.C. where she has resided for the past year.
