Plastic Surgeon/Hair Restoration


Dr. Paul M. Glat is a native of New York City, growing up in White Plains and graduating cum laude in 1984 from Princeton University. He graduated from New York University as class president before completing thorough post-graduate training in surgical techniques as well as advanced training from NYU’s Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Glat has the experience and expertise to handle delicate reconstructive surgery on children. He gained this experience from a craniofacial surgery fellowship with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children staff to lead the Plastic Surgery Division. Since 1998, Dr. Glat has been the Chief of Plastic Surgery and the Director of the Burn Unit at St. Christopher’s Hospital, where he has attended to the care of more than 3,000 children with burn injuries. As an internationally renowned wound and burn care expert, Dr. Glat has had extensive research opportunities, is well published in the field, and has been asked on numerous occasions to speak on topics related to burn care, reconstructive surgery, and more. He is the coordinator for the annual John A Boswick Burn and Wound Care Symposium in Maui, Hawaii. Since 2004, Dr. Glat has been doing hair restoration procedures in his Bala Cynwyd location. He has one of the busiest hair practices in the United States. He is also an in-demand speaker and guest lecturer for numerous topics in hair restoration, cosmetic and reconstructive surgical techniques, having the opportunity to present work throughout the U.S., South America, India, Japan, Europe, and Australia. He currently teaches medical students as a Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine and his writing and clinical research has appeared in major plastic surgery textbooks and more than 60 publications.
