2023 Participant Biographies

Lexi Mason is an AV Systems Engineer working for rural school districts in Western New York for over 11 years.

She is a pioneer where she works, being the first transgender person to come out and begin transitioning at an organization of approximately 600 employees.

Lexi is the elected president of the Administrative Management Association, a union of educators and educational support staff for the K-12 schools they serve. During her tenure with the Union, she has been vital in negotiating a new contract and convincing the administration to rewrite the new union contract using all gender-neutral language.

Lexi graduated from the State University of New York at Alfred, with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. She is active in her local community transgender support group. Lexi has just recently won a long and hard fought external appeal, requiring her health insurance carrier to cover her facial electrolysis treatments, and is looking forward to hosting a workshop to help others navigate the daunting health insurance process for transgender care.
