Mr. Martin Russo
Medical Case Manager
He/Him/His
Martin Russo is a Medical Case Manager at The Wright Center for Community Health, Ryan White HIV Clinic in Scranton, PA. At the Wright Center, Martin helps connect his HIV+ clients to an array of medical, social, and emotional support services that are available to people who live with HIV. He holds a BS in Human Kinetics from Rutgers University and Certifications as a Certified Community Health Worker and a Certified Recovery Specialist.
Martin also does consulting work for public school districts in Northeastern Pennsylvania to help them integrate transgender students into their classrooms and curricula. As a transman of 38 years, I use my very unique skill set to help parents and teachers provide the best possible educational and social experience to all of their students. “If you are being stigmatized and bullied in school, that’s not going to happen.”
I offer my 38 years of lived experience as a transgender man to parents, siblings, teens, adults, friends, family members or anyone who needs help understanding what being transgender entails. If sharing my story can make someone’s life a little easier, then that’s what I’m going to do.
Martin also serves on the Board of Directors of the NEPA Youth Shelter in Scranton, PA and lives in Scranton with his juvenile delinquent cat, Rollerena.
