Our Deepest Regrets
It is with extreme sadness that we must cancel the 2020 Keystone Conference due to increasing concerns over the COVID-19 Corona Virus. This has been a very difficult decision to make, but is the most prudent in light of too many intangibles and the high element of uncertainty surrounding this outbreak. Our first concern is the health and well-being of Keystone’s devoted participants, dedicated staff and volunteers, and you, our most faithful attendees.
As many of you know, we draw attendees from all over the United States and internationally—a fact that we are both humbled from and very proud of. Nevertheless, this amazing and wonderful diversity of people brings with it added anxiety under the darkening shadow of this outbreak. Keystone is about coming together, celebrating our differences and embracing both old and new friends. Unfortunately, with even the most benign sneeze or innocuous cough, worry and fear will only be fueled at a stressful time like this.
This decision was made after consulting several medical professionals and thoroughly reviewing information from and recommendations by the CDC and other respected agencies.
Below is a list of immediate questions many of you probably have. Additional questions can be sent to us at info@Keystone-Conference.org. Given the magnitude of this action, it may take us several days to respond.
Your Reservation at the Sheraton
We are awaiting guidance from the Sheraton on how they will process cancelling room reservations. Please DO NOT cancel until you receive that guidance or it may jeopardize your one-night deposit. We will tell you that our friends at the Sheraton are just as sad about this cancellation. For many of them, this is their favorite event of the year.
Your Reservation at the Red Lion
The Red Lion’s policy permitted cancellation up to the day prior to your arrival. Their number is (717) 939-7841. If you have any issues or questions, please contact Lars Johnson at Lars.Johanson@redlion.com.
Your Reservation at the Red Roof
The Red Roof’s policy permitted cancellation up to the day of your arrival. Their number is (717) 939-1331.
Refund of Your Conference Registration
There is no need to request a refund—we will be refunding 100% of everyone’s payment to include donations and membership fees. Please be patient, it may take us up to two weeks to refund everyone’s registration. Once we’ve processed all the refunds, we will send out a mass email announcing such. For those of you who paid by check or money order, we will contact you in the next week on how best to return your money.
The Next Keystone Conference
Unfortunately, due to the enormous amount of time and energy it takes to plan Keystone, we are unable to simply postpone the event to a later date in 2020. Nevertheless, we have already begun working to set the dates for the 2021 Keystone Conference and will announce those dates as soon as possible.
You Are All in Our Thoughts
Like each of you, the worst part of this decision is the realization we will not see many of you for another year and that may be difficult for some. Understandably, this decision and current climate impacts all of us in different ways and at different levels, especially as we refocus our pre-Keystone excitement back toward more mundane day-to-day activities. No one is immune from overwhelming feelings or even depression and so we’ve listed some national resources below.
Remember, we look forward to seeing EVERYONE next year. Be safe and be well.
