2025 Participant Biographies

Beth McKinley (she/her) brings a unique blend of experience, passion, and advocacy to her role as Associate Wealth Advisor at Roots Financial Group at Thrivent. After 15 years as a donor advisor for regional, national, and international non-profit organizations, Beth transitioned her expertise in charitable giving to the financial services industry, where she’s committed to helping clients build financial plans that reflect their values and priorities. Beth is particularly dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, offering a welcoming and inclusive approach to financial planning. She works closely with individuals, couples, and organizations who want to integrate giving into their financial strategy, empower women to take control of their financial futures, and create a space where everyone feels seen and heard. Beth holds the Affirming Advisor (AA), the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation, and is a member of the Keystone Business Alliance, the LGBT Chamber of Commerce in Central PA. Her leadership extends beyond finance: she was the first Chair of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the Carlisle Branch of AAUW and co-chaired the ELCA Lower Susquehanna Synod’s LGBTQIA+ Affirming Taskforce. Beth’s passion for giving back is also evident in her extensive volunteer work. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Carlisle and Cumberland County and is a member of the organization's Development Committee. Through her work and advocacy, Beth is deeply committed to making a positive impact in her community, particularly for those whose voices are often marginalized.
