2023 Participant Biographies

After 15 years as a donor advisor for a variety of regional, national, and international non-profit organizations, Beth McKinley (she/her) transitioned her experience in charitable gift planning to the financial services industry. As Associate Wealth Advisor at Roots Financial Group at Thrivent, Beth provides financial planning services to clients and is focused on serving those who want to include giving in their financial plan, helping women feel confident in their financial future, and prioritizing the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

Professionally, Beth is an active member of Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS), where she helped found the Central PA Chapter. She is also a member the Keystone Business Alliance, the LGBT Chamber of Commerce in Central PA. She is the first Chair for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the Carlisle Branch of AAUW, and the Co-chair for the Lower Susquehanna Synod’s LGBTQIA+ Affirming Taskforce. Additionally, Beth continues to support local fundraising efforts as an active volunteer, where she currently serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Someone To Tell It To and the Development Committee for Project Share.

Beth is an active member of Thrivent’s Pride Business Resource Network and is focused on building practice that is open and affirming.
