2023 Participant Biographies
Karyn Bello is a fashion designer who founded Zhe by Karyn Elizabeth, an inclusive lingerie label that serves the needs of transgender women. After spending more than 20 years as a stay at home mom, Karyn followed her childhood dreams and took Continuing Education classes at Parsons School of Design. While there, one of her children disclosed that she was transgender, it was during her daughters transition that Karyn realized the lack of beautiful lingerie options for the community. Karyn is an advocate and ally for the LGBTQ+ community, with strong ties to the Pride Center in her hometown of Staten Island. She is specifically passionate about inclusiveness in the fashion industry.
